Why has 3x3ballers started this blog?

Here at 3x3ballers we are mad on basketball! And we spend our time watching it on TV, going to games and talking about hoops. So we have started this blog to give our views on the sport and find out what you think. Whether it’s BBL, NBA, NCAA, Euro or 3×3 we like to talk about it. Indeed anything basketball and we are interested.

Why is your name 3x3ballers?

As well as our general interest in basketball, we have a specific interest in the 3×3 version of the game here in the UK. That’s why we chose the name 3x3ballers.

So what is the deal with 3×3 basketball?

Some years ago FIBA, the world governing body, announced they wanted to bring all the millions of 3on3 players into the global basketball family. They launched the World Tour which is a series of 3×3 tournaments in cities around the world. FIBA also created world and regional championships for 3×3 so national teams could compete. The whole thing has been getting bigger and bigger and players in the UK have started to take notice. Now 3×3 players all over the world have something to focus on.

So do you organise any basketball events?

In summer 2016 3x3ballers staged our first ‘London Challenge’ tournament in London. Teams from the UK and Europe attended for a trophy and prize money. We have plans to stage more tournaments in the future.

From now on we will be giving our perspective on all things basketball. In addition, we will be letting you know about the latest news on the rise of 3×3. And we really want to hear from our readers!
