3×3 Basketball World Cup – Final day
The fifth and final day of the 3×3 World Cup is here. Such is the dizzying pace, the quarter and semi-finals, plus the championship games for both men and women, happened on the same day.
Assist of the tournament goes to Qatar’s Erfan Ali Saeed, against Slovenia in their quarter final match. However, Slovenia ran out winners in the end.
There was a big semi-final clash between Serbia, featuring number one rated player Dusan Bulut, and France. Serbia overwhelmed France with a 22-10 victory. Highlight of the match was this super fade-away jumper from Bulut.
On the women’s side there was a dramatic semi-final between Hungary and Ukraine. They were tied 13-13 when Hungary’s Alexandra Theodorian put up a buzzer beater that the referees initially ruled out. It went to video review and was ruled a valid two pointer leaving Hungary elated and Ukraine dejected.
The women’s final saw Russia beat Hungary, 19-12, in a battle of eastern Europe. Russia went through the whole tournament without losing a game. Watch some highlights….
